We’re delighted to welcome Eldridge to our portfolio as this remarkable Mornington Peninsula estate enters an exciting new chapter. Elli and Vicki Tutungi purchased the property—formerly Eldridge Estate—from winemaker David Lloyd in 2022, with the ambition of crafting distinctive Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Gamay that remain true to their varieties while capturing the character of this unique site. The Eldridge vineyard sits on the slopes of Red Hill in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula and, at 225 metres, is among the highest in the region. First planted by David Lloyd in 1984, the three-hectare, north-facing site descends 45 metres towards a spring-fed dam. Sheltered from harsh winds and cooled by ocean breezes, it enjoys a long, slow ripening season, while its volcanic red clay soils retain enough moisture for the vineyard to be entirely dry-grown. The winemaking is spearheaded by Steve Flamsteed (the newly anointed 2027 Halliday Wine Companion Winemaker of the Year) with Grace Jiranek, a self-confessed Pinot and Chardonnay fanatic, as his right arm. Grace has worked for a range of top producers in the Adelaide Hills and Mornington, as well as Jean-Marc Pillot in Chassagne-Montrachet. Together, they have brought fresh energy and precision to the estate. Their first releases, from the 2023 vintage, have arrived in impressive form and having tasted the 2024s and 2025s, we can confidently say that the story only becomes more exciting from here. These wines are produced in tiny quantities and are likely to become allocated in future, making this an ideal opportunity to discover Eldridge at the beginning of its new chapter.
