Like many great white producers, Germain is today also making fabulous reds. We rarely get an allocation as production is so small. It comes from tiny holdings—two micro-parcels in Au Jardin (the garden-like clos behind Germain’s cellar) and the evocatively named Moulin à Judas (under Les Chevalières). It’s a superb Bourgogne Rouge, chiselled and loaded with red and dark fruit notes as well as plenty of spice. Delicious!
