Here’s the second release from the innovative Sweetdram team (of Escubac fame). Put simply, it’s a deliciously dry, new wave cocktail Rum without a pirate or a sea monster in sight. Now that they’re safely ensconced in their own bespoke Edinburgh distillery, you can expect plenty more innovation from this talented outfit. Here Sweetdram’s team take a proprietary Rum base—blended from Guyanan, Jamaican and Bajan (Barbadian) Rums—and infuse it with grains of paradise, chamomile, lime leaf, fennel and cardamom. Lapsang and organic figs, warm-smoked over oak at the distillery, impart the smokiness. Unlike many (almost all) other 'spiced' Rum brands, Sweetdram doesn’t add a single iota of artificial flavours or sugars. And as with all things Sweetdram, the spirit mixes REALLY well.
