Paul Gadenne Hors Norme Rouge 2022

The Hors Norme Rouge is a blend of Mondeuse and Gamay from two plots in Chignin. The Mondeuse plot is Gadenne’s young-vine material for this variety from a very steep, south-facing slope at 400 metres. The vines are 15 years old and rooted in clay/limestone. The Gamay plot is slightly lower at 350 metres, and the material a touch older at 30 years, but with the same aspect and soil as the Mondeuse plot. The fruit is sealed up as whole bunches and not touched for 7-10 days, ensuring a light colour and tannins, as well as bright fruit character.
