The only L’Arlésienne wine aged in barrel, Corcelette is a blend of two high-altitude parcels on the north side of Morgon. There are 0.20 hectares of north-exposed 80-year vines in the Janins climat, at 450 metres, and 0.25 hectares in Truges (bordering Chiroubles Chatenay), where the vines are only slightly younger. This latter parcel faces south and both parcels are farmed biodynamically—exceptionally rare in this village. As with his Chiroubles, Moreau destemmed his entire harvest, which again, due to hail, amounted to just 10 hl/ha! This year the Morgon was raised for 12 months in 500-litre oak.

Reviews

“Hmm – that’s really open – quite the widescreen view: high tines, floral, intense – super! In the mouth much more direct, linearity and intensity follows this line of flavour. A very tiny grain of tannin – then the wine bursts wider again in the finish – more energetic – electric almost in this finish – this is the demonstrative one today – what a beauty!”
