Les Noirots lies in the northern sector of Chambolle, flanked by Les Baudes to the north and Les Gruenchers to the south. Barthod owns such a tiny parcel of this cru—0.15 hectares—that was formerly blended into the village Chambolle-Musigny, purely for practical reasons. The Domaine began bottling it separately in 2017, with Clement taking on more responsibility (and offering another set of hands in the cellar). Situated very close to Bonnes Mares, Les Noirots reflects its location: offering excellent depth of fruit, in a darker spectrum, very good structure, lots of spice, and robust length. A sort of more open Les Baudes.
