Jasper describes this wine as “our little bistro red blend.” It’s beautifully balanced, hitting the sweet spot of fruit generosity, acidity and aromatics. The name is an homage to the French joie de vivre. In French, pompette describes someone who is “pleasantly tipsy.”
The wine is 80% Syrah from the Kas Sluiter vineyard with 20% Pinot Noir from the Picadilly vineyard. Both sites were hand harvested before destemming and fermentation over two to three weeks. The wine then matured for 10 months in fiberglass tanks.
