The Domaine’s vines in La Forêt border those of its holdings in Montmains and were planted at the same time. The La Forêt was first made in 2016 after Jean-Claude Bessin accepted that the two vineyards, no matter how close together, produced such different wines. Terroir! This parcel sits a little higher on the slope and the complex stony soils of gift a straighter, spicier and chalkier expression than the wine above.
The élevage is split between temperature-controlled tanks and barrel.
