Only 6 bottles shipped. Leroux started with Aux Boudots in 2015. His 0.3-hectare parcel lies on rocky soil on the upper slope, where the vines produce particularly small bunches of Pinot Fin. As a result, this parcel can handle a large percentage of whole bunch. Boudots is often referred to as the most Vosne-like of Nuits-St-George’s wines, though Leroux doesn’t exactly agree. Even though his parcel in Vosne-Romanée’s Aux Malconsorts is only a stone’s throw away, Leroux says the wines behave entirely differently in the cellar. Lalou Bize Leroy, who farms over one hectare in Boudots, echoes this sentiment in Jasper Morris’s Inside Burgundy. Indeed, Leroux regards Boudots as home to “the true character of Nuit-St-Georges”. Having said all that, this is wonderfully classy and fine Nuits—incredibly floral, seductive, spicy and long. Again, only one barrel was made.

Reviews

“A more normal purple and a touch of oak on the nose, but this is super-concentrated too. Waves of dark red fruit flow across the palate, and with very good acidity too. This is more in the line of a standard vintage but with extra concentration. Drink from 2032-2038.”
92-94 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
“The 2024 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Boudots 1er Cru, which was completely de-stemmed, has a refined bouquet with ample red berry fruit: mulberry and raspberry, touches of potpourri and dark chocolate in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, quite focused and with good tension, transparent in style with a poised finish. Just 240 litres produced. Yep, litres.”
