Only 6 bottles shipped. This year’s rendition comes from both Les Languettes, a cool site in Aloxe-Corton, wedged between Les Pougets and Le Corton, and en Charlemagne. The grapes are pressed gently without crushing, lightly settled, and fermented without sulphur in a mix of small and large casks. Leroux uses one-third new oak, and the result is a superb, powerful Charlemagne.
Totally different to the Grandes Lolières above, it comes from white soils and is much more structured and taught. Intense, deep and full of energy, it is a brilliant Corton Charlie!
