This is surely the best wine we have seen from Leroux in this Grand Cru. Part of the wine comes from a new source—a plot of mature, organically tended vines, sitting on the upper part of the Grand Cru terroir in the lieu-dit Aux Charmes. This part of the vineyard runs up near the road, close and directly opposite to the border between Latricières Chambertin and Chambertin itself, so it’s a handy location! Blended with Leroux’s existing Mazoyères fruit, this cuvée now stretches to four barrels.
