Those who attended the tastings will need no convincing on this wine. The yields in Gevrey were slightly better, but Leroux still blended all of his parcels together, including the 1er and grand crus (apart from Cazetiers). Most of the villages parcels are in the northern end of the commune, below the town, but with a significant portion also coming from above the town, on the high, rocky, Brochon side of Gevrey and the 1er crus Champeaux and Grand Cru Charmes. It’s a seriously classy and refined Gevrey with fine, powdery tannins.
