Very limited. 15 bottles left. As one of Vincent Duruil’s top whites, we have been chasing an allocation of this great 1er Cru for years; the 2022 is our first bite of the cherry. This east-facing site is Rully;s southernmost 1er Cru. The vineyard’s white marls and oolithic limestone, combined with Dureuil’s old vines, planted in 1946, always deliver the most engaging combination of tension, flesh and backbone. Burgundy loves should buy first and ask questions later.

Domaine Dureuil-Janthial Rully 1er Cru Les Margotés Blanc 2022

Reviews

“Five Star wine. Fresh pale colour, seems like more oak on the nose, but actually it is the exuberant ripeness of this vineyard. Suddenly kicks on, an electric tension, lemon citrus, almost lime, yet with a white fruit purity throughout and a fine backbone.”
92 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
“This has one of Vincent’s most nuanced and understated bouquets, gradually opening in the glass to reveal scents of Golden Delicious, Clementine pith, and light, wet, rocky aromas. The well-balanced palate has a taut line of acidity and beautifully integrated oak. The smooth, harmonious finish has a hint of patisserie/popcorn right on the aftertaste. Superb.”
92-94 points, Neal Martin, Vinous
