Champagne Laherte Frères Les 7 (Solera 05-22. Disg. Nov 25)

Les 7 is a single parcel field blend from a plot in Chavot, planted by Thierry Laherte in 2003 to make use of the heirloom vines of Fromenteau (Pinot Gris), Arbanne and Petit Meslier already growing within the family’s oldest vineyard plots. The addition of Chardonnay and Pinots Noir, Meunier and Blanc created a unique planting of all seven permitted Champagne varieties. They are harvested and pressed together, and all fermentations are spontaneous. The wine draws on a perpetual reserve stretching back to 2005: each year, roughly 60% new vintage wine is blended with 40% of the reserve, so this release spans the harvests of 2005 to 2022. Disgorged November 2025. One of Champagne’s most distinctive wines: super complex, fleshy and savoury, with peppery, nutty notes. If you’re after Champagne with genuine personality, don’t miss it.
