Quealy planted their Moscato Giallo in 2014. The fruit has formed the backbone of the Estate’s Lina Lool field blend and zero-dosage Secco Splendido for years; in 2022, the family deemed the quality high enough for a straight bottling and siphoned off a small parcel for the Turbul range. The team picked these hardy, thick-skinned grapes in early April and painstakingly sorted to ensure only the most pristine berries made it into this wine. The fruit was destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in a stainless-steel tank. Left until the first day of Spring, the wine was pressed and matured in seasoned hogsheads until late winter 2025.
Bottled unfiltered, the Moscato leaps from the glass with gregarious notes of orange blossom, lavender, Turkish delight, dried flowers and grapey lift. Filled to the brim with pulpy, mouthcoating texture and flavour, it has attractive salty lick to it and a long, tangy close. As good as it will perform at the table, there’s a convivial, after-dinner vibe going on here.
