One of the great Crus of Neive, Cottà was among the first sites in Barbaresco to be produced as a single vineyard wine. The Roccas work with two small parcels totalling half a hectare. The first parcel is adjacent to their Gepin (Barbera) site and faces the Ronchi vineyard. The second plot sits in the highest section of the Cru. Cottà’s sand-rich clay/marl soils and warmer microclimate grow generous yet fine wines that marry beautifully with Rocca’s elegant interpretation of Nebbiolo. In 2022, it was the only single-vineyard Barbaresco both vinified and aged in oak.
