Rockburn Pinot Noir 2010

Rockburn Wines Pinot Noir 2010 scooped a gold medal at the 2011 NZ International Wine Show.
Hot on the heels of the multi gold and trophy winning 2009 Pinot Noir, the 2010 is off to a cracking start ahead of its slated December release. Firmly established as the largest wine competition held in New Zealand this year's competition was chaired by Bob Campbell MW.

Rockburn's winemaker, Malcolm Rees-Francis, commented, "The prevailing opinion locally is that the 2009 and 2010 vintages are a rare pairing of very high quality years; this gold medal is the first for our 2010 and is a strong signal it will follow in the footsteps of its illustrious predecessor which is still being widely enjoyed today."

Other awards: Gold Medal & "Best in class" International Wine & Spirits Competition in London: "Deep rich red colour to rim. Smoke, earth and spice on the nose, with rich dark cherry and damson fruit. Firm tannins show an authoritive mark and give the sumptuous fruit superb definition. Well melded oak and a clean driving finish, Central Otago's reputation is being well held here".
Pure Gold at Air Newzealand Awards: "Hugely intense and gloriously perfumed, fabulous with layers of delicious flavours - red/black cherry, mushroom, cedar and spice. Silky, succulent and seamless."
