Maxime Graillot Equinoxe Crozes Hermitage Rouge 2010

Distinctive yet unpretentious, this 100% Syrah hits all the right notes. Made for early drinking - vinified in tank and old wood, the finished wine is bottled in March following harvest. It's crammed with pulsating, freshly crushed fruit over a canvas smoked meat/ mineral intensity that captures the zeitgeist of the 2010 vintage. The black-fruited palate is packed with a vibrant array of sweetly intense blackberry and pepper. While there is a degree of youthful complexity it remains deliciously humble, mouth-watering and crunchy fresh. Exuberant, smile inducing Syrah.
