The classic bend of the estate - 80% Semillon and 20% Sauvignon - the 2006 La Rame reflects the vintage conditions that pervaded across the Southern Aquitaine. It's glowing and airy - 2006 was a lower botrytis year- and crisp, a world away from many of the cloyingly sweet, forced stickies found in shops. It's got lovely tarte aux pommes and candied citrus flavours with marmalade and faint honeycomb notes. Well balanced, zesty and mouth-watering, this has the weight and presence to partner sweeter tarts & soufflé, crème brulee and the like.
