The Janin Beaujolais Villages comes from a site heavy in clay with 50-60 year old vines. This leaps out of the glass with pure, rich fruit aromas and while the palate is tightly cosseted by crunchy tannins, there is a wealth of bright, tangy fruit to compensate. Once again, Janin's entry level is a serious villages wine with plenty of intensity and length. Its freshness, mineral snap, and 'joy de vivre' character (omnipresent in all of Janin's wines) is a testament to the dedicated viticulture and gentle handling of this Domaine. The quality, intensity and refreshment at this level is excellent.
