45% Pinot Bianco, 30% Chardonnay, 15% Sauvignon Blanc & 10% Goldmuskateller (Muscat). Grown at 448 metres (hence the name) on mineral-rich, sedimentary soils. '448' or "quattro quattro otto" is also a local saying for "hurry up" so there's a bit of a word play going on here in the naming of this early drinking white. This is a fabulous value, aromatic wine for drinking over summer. Similarly weighted to a Loire white, and a little crunchier than its 2009 vintage, it's a little like biting into a fresh apple dusted in delicate spice. Again it offers floral and pithy aromatics of white flower, apple and fresh pear. The palate has great texture with fresh, energetic acidity that keeps you coming back. Very good drinking and an absolute bargain.
