Our Notes:

The Tesseron family are best known by wine lovers as the owners of Pontet Canet and Lafon Rochet in Bordeaux however it was in Cognac that they first became renown. Cognac Tesseron have distilled, aged and blended old, XO Cognacs since 1905; today the very finest brandies are selected from this vast collection of ancient reserves and blended to create the five unique and beautiful XO Cognacs listed below. These artisan Cognacs are an amazing experience and represent exceptional value!

Key points:

  • For over a century, Cognac Tesseron has supplied the famous houses of Cognac with XO brandy. These customers include Hennessy, Remy Martin, Martell and Courvoisier. Tesseron today sell a small range of XO Cognacs direct. As you can see above, they are getting rave reviews.
  • Prices are very low compared to commercial XO Cognacs currently on the market. Even the youngest Cognac in the range (Lot 90 XO) is over 15 years old, yet the price is better than many, much younger VSOP Cognacs!
  • The oldest, Lot 29 XO is over 75 years old, and recently became the only Cognac to be rated 100 points by Robert Parker Jr.
  • The wines are beautifully packaged and boxed.
  • Tesseron is one of the few remaining growers to have vineyards planted to Colombard (for depth and power) and Folle Blanche (for finesse). Most vineyards in Cognac have today been grafted across to Ugni Blanc which, while easier to grow and distil, produces simpler, less aromatic wines.
