This south facing vineyard is considered one of Savigny's finest. The name is taken from the clay layers or laves that make up the soil structure. 2009 yielded in a tiny crop (23 hl/ha) of intense, ripe berries. It's remarkably deep in colour, with beautiful, black fruit and cocoa aromas - it has energy and atypical richness, allied with freshness and exceptionally smooth, sexy tannins."An extremely ripe nose of spiced plum and background hints of prune and violets introduces rich and opulent flavors that are given lift by the presence of ample minerality on the detailed, energetic and rather firm finish.
